Make sure your carbon monoxide and fire alarms are working

Make sure your gas heater is checked by a professional every year

Make sure your fireplace(s) are serviced each year

Make sure your pipes are well insulated (inside and out)

Have your heat to at least 68 during the day and don\'t have it too low during the night (especially if you are out of town)

If you are out of town leave some of your faucets on a low drip
