Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald Berry Uses and Locations

• Cartridges with a dead internal battery will be unable to grow additional berries and receive daily gifts from NPCs. Replacing a dead battery can also result in glitches related to timed events. It will be extremely difficult to get to Mirage Island on a cartridge with a dead internal battery.

• It is not possible to receive every berry in a single playthrough. It will require multiple game resets and trading to get all 5 berries that are based on the Trainer ID number.

• Access to a GameCube with Pokemon Colosseum or XD: Gale of Darkness and a link-cable is necessary.

• 36 Liechi Berry - Raises Attack when HP falls below 25% - Grows on Mirage Island on Route 130 upon arriving. Overwhelmingly rare to access this island where access is granted based on invisible values related to a Pokemon\'s personality. An individual Pokemon has a 1/65536 chance of causing the island to appear each day. If the game cartridge\'s internal battery is dead, the invisible numbers causing Mirage Island to spawn will never change.

• 37 Ganlon Berry - Raises Defense when HP falls below 25% - Must be transferred from Pokemon Colosseum or Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

• 38 Salac Berry - Raises Speed when HP falls below 25% - Must be transferred from Pokemon Colosseum or Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

• 39 Petaya Berry - Raises Special Attack when HP falls below 25% - Must be transferred from Pokemon Colosseum or Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

• 42 Starf Berry - Sharply raises a random stat when HP falls below 25% - Emerald only: Given away by Scott in the Battle Frontier after the player has obtained all seven Gold Frontier Symbols

• Bonus: 43 Enigma Berry - Not obtainable through standard gameplay, was originally used as a placeholder for e-Reader Berries. May be placed in the game using a cheating device like a GameShark or Action Replay.
